When you doubt yourself all hope is lost. You know your limitations. You understand where your comfort zone begins and ends. You are the only one who knows what you are capable of. Those around you will case doubt on your abilities. They wish for you to fail. They believe that success can only be achieve be others, of which you don’t fit the mold.  These are the same people who want to make millions by doing nothing. They want to become fit by taking a magic pill. They want the big house. Essentially they want everything handed to them n a silver plater, never really understanding the sacrifice it takes to commit to your goals. Nothing happens overnight. It takes months to just learn the process, then years to master the skills necessary to get to the level that your skills are habitual.

Something that helps me past the self doubt is knowing the number of people that have completed ________ before me. If they can do it, I can do it. And I’ll be darned if I let them prove to be better than me. And honestly, it truly comes down to you. Do you believe that you can succeed? Are you willing to work beyond your limits? Are you willing to sacrifice the now for the then, understand that the outcome is what you seek? If you answered no, you will not succeed because you are too weak to try. If you answered yes, continue to press on, continue to fight for what you seek. And remember while you are your own biggest doubter, your also are your biggest motivator.

Setting Goals

I want to achieve a lot of things. I want to be remembered for something great. I want to leave a legacy for my family that they can be proud of. But what am I doing to secure them? Nothing. I want to achieve a lot of things. I want to be remembered for something great. I want to leave a legacy for my family that they can be proud of. But what am I doing to secure them? Nothing. Everyday I talk about doing something great. And every day passes with me doing nothing. I have determined that this is the battle. I believe that this can be contributed to one thing; that being a lack of establishing the actual goals. I can say I am going to do X, but I have nothing to remind me of my commitment. I have nothing to look towards. Nothing staring back at me, wondering if I have what it takes. I have committed to may things before and some of those are still taking place, but others have failed.

These goals do not have be to profound in nature. They surely will not be complex. But they will be things that I want to achieve. Please note that these are not “bucket list” items. Or merely things that I want to do in life. But rather, things that I want to accomplish because they provide passion.

So without further ado, here is my list of goals:

Graduate from college (B.S. Government).

Become debt free.

Retire with $1,000,000 in savings.

Write a book. (Fiction/Non-Fiction, it doesn’t matter).

Become physically fit/healthy.

Own my own business.

Pursue the arts (Painting/Photography)

Learn to code.

I challenge you to establish your own goals. And devise a plan that will allow you to achieve them.

“Many people fail in life, not for lack of ability or brains or even courage but simply because they have never organized their energies around a goal” – Elbert Hubbard
